Twinc why have you re-posted your post, I realise that you may consider it has an answer for what I share- but this is my own personal space and I do not perhaps write as a means to finding a solution, but merely to share. God has brought me this far, and healed continuously along the way- I may not know all the answers, but He does x Me and my daughter had a lovely day out with my brother and sister in law, we did not discuss the issues, but built bridges. I am very grateful xx Rita Hi Rita...twinc probably didn't realize that this was your personal blog thread. The first of his posts was short...he later put up a second fuller one . I have left the second complete one, and removed the first one which was much shorter. So we have no duplicates now

That's ok Poppy xxxx Twinc- there is an expression ' don't teach your grandmother to suck eggs ' - I got what you were saying in your post. I have neither rejected or wasted the knowledge you shared, but merely already learned much about the past and how it works. God has already helped me through what I was struggling with, as I said in an earlier post , I was merely journalling here as a means of expression - it helps x Rita

Always good to talk something through, it helps to organize ones thoughts. If no one available to talk with then a forum is the next best thing, in the natural. Its good to talk it through with the Lord but I do find that sometimes I have a problem hearing his side of the conversation. I guess that is my problem not his.

Well we have the football on tonight, if Brighton can get two goals up on Sheffield they will head for Wembley with a chance to go up to the premier league - the last two matches have not gone there way and have been frustrating to watch.
Some me encouragment at work - we recently had awards within the Hallmark care homes- we all had a chance to nominate members of staff within our home. Housekeeping was in the auxiliary section, which covered kitchen, maintenance , hostesses and housekeeping - four people were nominated - would you believe it, I was one of the four, and the only one from housekeeping to reach that stage. Lesley, maintenance one the award, which I was thrilled about because he really needed the encouragment. However just being nominated gave me a boost x
Rit my son and dad will be here soon, it will either be a great evening, or one of frustration - I kind of think it is more likely to be the latter as brightens good players are injured x Rita

What a frustrating match- Brighton should be about 6 goals up- they are playing so well - so if they fail to get through , they have done us proud x Rita

Oh well, it was not meant to be LOL it did turn out to eat frustrating game - you could see the players, and us, lose hope. Amasing how it impacts your mood - as I go to work i know there will be this ' disappointment in the air ' until we all pick our feet up and realise that there is always next season, Kind of reminds me of the spiritual lows we encounter at times x I am reading AW Tozers ' pursuit of God ' old book, but so relevant and helpful - actually it's inspiring x Its dementia awareness week at work, so we are opening up the coffee shop on Clement way to those in the community who are caring for someone with dementia - that means a lot more jobs on top of what we already have to do- should keep me fit !! Blessings...H

Yes, the day got better Helen, it was a nice shift in the end. Yesterday was hard going as I was on my own- but today I know there will be two of us.
Dan declared that he no longer believes there is a God, funny as an atheist I thought he believed that anyway. He equates his strengthened argument on what happened to the airline that plunged into the sea- how it would have taken time for those on board, and how the plane spun- would have been a horrible way to die. It was difficult to give him an answer. He doesn't understand , if God is the creator and above all things, why does he not intervene. I know by faith that there is so much more to what is going on in this world - but trying to find the right way to put that into words as a defence I find hard.
Rita x

Rita, when somebody doesn't want to believe in God they will always find a reason or excuse not to. Even if you showed them positive proof of God's love and grace in the lives and testimonies of other Christians they would ignore all that and still adhere to those negative facts on which to hang their unbelief.
When people make the choice not to believe nothing we can say can change that. Only the Holy Spirit can reveal God and I pray that he will reveal him to Dan.

Rita, I've been on Amazon looking up that book by Tozer. Is it a devotional? It looks interesting, I may get it.

I just bought it for my Kindle for only 71p. Such a cheap and quick way to get it. Saved about £4 on the cheapest paperback and saved over a week in delivery time.

He does actually have a devotional though..that someone put together from his writings.

I don't use my Kindle an awful lot but it's great for downloading Christian books as they are a lot cheaper than a real book - and you can highlight a bookmark so that you can go back to interesting passages. I bought my Kindle initially so I could use the bible download in church. I also have an extensive playlist on it and photos. But I don't read novels on it - I get those cheap in charity shops.
