Yes Rita, what you wrote reminded me that "whatsoever doth make manifest is light". I do not think of this virus as light, or from God but the scripture does indicate that it is proved light because as you have just said it reveals what is hidden within us. Such things that offend God which would not have been searched out but by the application of extreme heat of his fire, is this a part of being "saved yet so as by fire"?

Well April has been a somewhat weird month.... on sudden isolation for two weeks ( which ended up to be a nice break as I couldn’t go out I didn’t feel under any pressure to do anything other than what I felt I wanted to do ‘ .....I started reading a study on ‘ seeing Jesus in the OT ‘ - which is proving interesting...will do some more of that today as I am on holiday this week.
Going back to work was kind of nice on one level, but we are now playing the waiting game to see if the virus has reached us- yesterday I received notification that ‘ everyone ‘ must wear full PPI - something only Carers were wearing in the rooms with residents on isolation. This has come from our head office, so I don’t think it means ‘ the virus is there ‘ - they just ranked things up a bit. This raises dilemmas for many of us with vulnerable family to protect.......to be honest if it does reach the home it will be there for months potential ( given the incubation period ) ......I have been weighing up whether to retire early because of my hip, but somehow feel a burden for those there- I sometimes wish God would just give you a print out of what he wants you to do...........
Dan is okay, obviously coping with the lock down and isolation -lol Its quite interesting getting feed back from his friends in the USA! Alaska, Sweden.......it will be interesting to see how it pans out in Sweden. Wouldn’t work here as we have to many stupid people who simply would be able to take responsibility for doing the right thing......there are some idiots about ........
My brother should have been over here this week, it’s our birthday , so we had planned to celebrate with a family get together.......... I haven’t got a cake now !!!!! Still dan and I will enjoy a Chinese take away ......... There are very few buses at the moment Dave... thankfully my sister in law has been my lift to and from work, buses are running one an hour- but as I usually get two,it would be a nightmare getting home. I miss costa, but my son brought me a tassimo for Mother’s Day ( should have been for my birthday but he gave it to me early ) so I can enjoy my ‘ nice ‘ coffee at home.....I am saving a fortune ....... Right the sun is beckoning , so I had better get up xx Rita

Rita...on the buses do you all have to sit 6ft a part?
Isn't it kind of dangerous with you all breathing the same air? Do you all wear a mask there?

Buses appear to be fairly empty but I think that is because they are so infrequent they have become impractical to anyone who has to make a connection.

I haven’t had to get a bus since lock down, my sister in ,aw has been taking me to work, and picking me up. I am back to work tomorrow , and cannot get hold of her, so I may have to get the bus. They don’t appear to be that busy, but I guess I will find out.x As for work, I believe when I go back we will all being wearing masks- but in all honesty there has been no evidence of the virus being there until the last few weeks - we wash our hands all the time and use alcoholic hand gel. If the buses are anything like planes Rita, I just read of a woman coming from Canada via a Jumbo jet seats 500 and only 10 passengers on board. Well spaced out no doubt but they still all breath the same air.

My brother Neil whom I was talking to on facetime today , said that England is very slack. He said that he talked on the phone to a friend returning from a year's work in Dubai , he said that out there at the airport they were strict on the 6ft distance , and also on the plane. Yet when he arrived at Heathrow airport they were all shoulder to shoulder , and no checks on temperatures or distancing ...just business as usual with people arriving from all parts of the world.

They've been doing that here but taxis can still operate with total strangers. How is that ok?

Hi Helen, If you are taking a key worker to work, you are allowed to drive them. I have a special identity card from work. There are quite a few cars about still, but many people are still working- my son returned to work as a carpenter last week, my oldest has never stopped work ( electrician ) my daughter I’ll starts a new job this week ........ They all have to drive to work. I think you are only allowed one passenger in the car x Rita

The UK never really shut down just non food retail apart from hardware.. thats why we have an estimated 40,000 deaths if we were to take into account anyone out of hospital.. We will be hit the highest per head of population apart from the US which will be stratospheric due to lack of lockdown. Only South Korea and New Zealand took it seriously.. Our government are still obviously aiming at herd immunity that is why they are so lax
It has a resemblance to WW1 when they sent soldiers over the top for 4 years never changing the pattern simply hoping the Germans would run out of bullets one day.
Bombard the night before and at 6.00am release the smoke bombs and blow loud whistles all along the line for the men to climb out of the trenches and get shot. The system never really worked in the whole 4 years

To date the record shows 20732 have died because of Corvid-19 in the UK , I do not understand the thought of herd immunity since more and more scientist are saying those who have recovered from the virus have very little antibodies in their blood or non at all. Currently the WHO say that it is no help to issue certificates or any such thing as proof of being clear of the virus since this will instill false confidence and add to the re emergence of the problem. It all seems to be a wait and see situation.

Long time no hear Rita, how is the work at the care home now that you are in full PPE gear? The number affected in homes I read is very high with regard to casualties is that the case or is it opposition hype? All in all the papers and reports on line do seem a bit on the negative side as if nothing is going right in the UK. Makes me happy no longer to be in the country if I judge everything by what is printed in the English press. Yet some of the more 'off the wall' web sites do have a completely different appraisal of the British situation.
I hope you and the family are in good health, James.

Hi James, I don’t think it is hype, although I was listening to the prime ministers question time at my dads yesterday, and the opposition were going on about the numbers way too much.... I think the figures have slowed down a little in care homes, but I don’t know the exact numbers. PPE is going well, although not ideal when you are trying to work. Thankfully our care home is free from the virus at the moment, we were all tested on Monday and Tuesday ( everyone ) so the results are gradually coming back- be interesting to see if we are all ok. We have yet another video to watch about the virus, they keep changing things !
Since the lockdown is being gradually lifted I will now lose my lift to work, so from Monday I will be back using the buses ......
Hope everyone is okay there xx

Blessing on you as you bus to work Rita. ‘They’ keep saying that good hygiene will keep you safe. Which to my mind, being a man, begs the question why lock down in the first place. Proof that not only the governments but also the experts are a bunch of lemmings! IMHO as they say. How is dad with isolation, stir crazy or able to take it all in his stride? I did read, again no way of knowing if true, that the mental health damage of stay at home is becoming or has become as dangerous as the virus itself. Apparently the effects of said virus will last for years, and no doubt the effect of lock down will also be evident for years to come. I keep thinking I will awake one day with a blinding revelation of the depth of the Lords plan within this world situation, nothing so far. Hence Hebrews 11and those who endured by faith. One thing is sure and that is the foundation of the Lord remains firm and we are the wise who build thereon. May God keep you and enrich you, James

Hi James, My dad seems to be coping okay, although the bigger problem will come when he has to start going out again- he has to go to the chemist for his warfarin test on Wednesday- and just going out is now making him anxious.... the problem of staying in is that you can watch all the news, all of the time - and it just feeds the negatives. My dad doesn’t really discern and tends to believe everything they are say - you know ‘ the so called experts ‘ who offer their opinions to back whatever the news channels want the people to hear. I agree that mental health issues will increase, but it could be from the fears of going out, as well as the time spent in isolation , agoraphobia could well increase with those who are high risk. I didn’t get my test back- a number of them got lost in hyperspace somewhere !! ( I should have received the result in an email, never arrived ! Rita

Good news Rita, you sound bright and as if you are coping very well.
I did read an interesting fact the other day to the effect that although thousands had been listed as dead because of covid 19 the reality was that 8000 would have died anyway the virus it appears just slightly hastened the event. Not a lot of consolation to those families left behind, even if true. I wonder how long it will be before all the truth is known. I have the idea that we will be able to visit restaurants after the first of June as long as the tables are over 2 meters apart. No problem here since most business is done outside through the summer months. Lord keep you and yours safe in him. James

Hi James, That test results never showed up - waste of time now as 14 days has already past!! It will be interesting to see what happens over the next two weeks here, with infant children going back to school on Monday and nurseries reopening. Shops will begin to open mid June. They are increasing the buses ( which will be do good as one an hour is hopeless when you are trying to get to and from work. ( thankfully I do still get some lifts ) I desperately need a new pair of sketchers for work - but I read last night that you are not allowed to try clothes on, so I am presuming it will be the same with shoes - which is no good for me because I need to try them on. I keep sticking my pair together with superglue - but they are not going to last much longer. I also need work trousers, but once again I have try them on. I have never been able to just buy things ‘ off the peg ‘ ! My dad did his trip to the chemist, he was fine and that afternoon he went over to Gwens daughters for a cream tea with Gwen, we figured they needed to see each other and have a change of scenery. All social distancing rules applied. He has to go to the chemist next week, and has decided to get the bus- he is still a bit anxious, but little steps are acting as a positive. Hope all is well with you and your family James xx Rita

Okay, let’s use this space again ....... I watched a few other episodes of ‘ The Chosen ‘ yesterday, the calling of the disciples and the miracle of the fish being caught, and the wedding with the first public miracle, or was it ? The large catch of fish came before the wedding and the miracle with the wine, also in scripture many healings had already happened .......so what determines that this was the first ‘ Public ‘ Many people at the wedding didn’t even know it had occurred, the wine was changed in a private area, it also claims that the wine provider was Thomas ( the one who doubted )....
I did find myself moved to tears in a few places...... If I could go back to one part of history I think it would be to see ‘ how ‘ Jesus was with the people, I would love to sit by the Sea of Galilee and just observe.
Also been considering ‘ take my yoke ‘ ....I never realised how this word, yoke ,was used in scripture. It occurred to me that the animals could not ‘ put ‘ the yoke on themselves, the ‘ yoke ‘ of slavery was also instigated by God ......so can we put on the ‘ yoke ‘ that Jesus tells us too........
The animals had to be willing, submissive.... Gods people had rebelled and desired earthly leaders....
The animals are protected by the yoke, provided with support to get the task at hand done.... Gods people had to be freed from the ‘ yoke ‘ of slavery. So it’s replacing one yoke with another. ... I am looking into yokes..... I did that once with the pieces of a chess game, I was feeling ‘ like a pawn ‘ in a negative way. Discovered the the pawn is one of the most important pieces in the game..... Rita

You know Rita I tend to see the thoughts that are not in line with the Lord as a ‘wicked way’ kjv v23 ,24. I think the writer is saying if you God do not lead me in the way everlasting, then I will follower my own thought pattern which will be my way and not yours Lord.
The trials and test reveal our areas of shifting sand, the question is then will we receive the rebuke and mend our ways by a deliberate change of mind? It is not at all easy to tear down our images of imagining how God thinks and works. In fact unless we like a little child put our hand into his and say ‘not my will’ lead me in the way, nothing will change and we will continue to circle the same old mountain. Deut 2:3
