Brill, Ivor, never went to Wales but knew a guy who pastored in North Wales, his church was called " The last chance church" he figured anybody who ended up where he was in Wales, it had to be their last chance๐๐๐. You make a handsome couple.

Went to Beamish years ago when the children were in their early teens, on the way we stopped at Lightwater Valley one of the attractions is 'The Rat' and underground roller coaster in the dark where one gets flashes of light to let you see how high you are or the sharpness of a curve. Not my cup of tea. Photo's look good, did you pick any seeds off the Castor oil plant for next spring bedding. They do grow really fast and make a wonderful statement as you well know by your photo.

Ops, silly me should have picked that up. I think I was expecting granite Valley's and views from the tops of barren mountains. That is a big Castor oil plant they have there in your pictures Ivor , in fact the gardens look magnificent.

Sorry to hijack the thread but James I sent you a PM about whether or not you would welcome some new blood to either or both the sites but so far I haven't heard from you.

I have replied again, I did reply via email the other day but it must have been lost in the web.
Bit like me on Ivor's page getting lost and missing all those wonderful pictures of Wales and the beautiful gardens.

A Chinese guy walked into the pub and started to drink
I said "do you know Karate, Kung-Fu or Judo?"
He said, "Why You ask me this - is it because I am Chinese?"
"No" I replied, it's because you're drinking my beer!

Ivor, I just read you are a bricklayer and mason, stone. I was on the trowel for over 20 years; started as an hodd carrier, built lots of Inglenook fireplaces and restoration on old cottages, plus worked on homes from the footings up, bricklaying was my ticket to Canada. Pretty boring stuff here in the west, mostly brick veneer but now a lot of feature stone inside and out. I remember preaching on, does the mortar between bricks bind us together or keep us apart??? My first trowel was a Brades broad back with the knock on handle and I bought the first Stabila 4 foot level in our town, it cost me 10 pounds, a lot of money in 1961 but it also saved my life, I had just finished off a gable end and was walking across the ceiling joist in a two storey house with a garage below, when Lo I fell thru but my trusty level stopped me by being across the joists which left me hanging but that was better than a free fall: I still have that level, Stabila's guarantee was you could drop it from 70 feet and the bubbles would not be out of level. Never had a pig in my walls ever .

I think everything is coming into place. I was talking with Kerry on the phone the other day, and we were speaking about the iron and clay. It's going to be interesting seeing how things unfold. I don't think we will have very long to wait.
