Great photos. I loved our bike - a Honda but I can't remember the name of it. I still find myself leaning into the curve on buses - ha. Does Yvonne ride with you?
PS Just remember it was a Superdream 250 in dark red, early 80s.

.
My green bike above is a Superdream 250 they also did a DreamT in the 1980s which was rounder and an RS which looked similar
Yeah she loves the pace as we tend to ride with the faster groups.. the Yamaha 600 we did 35,000 miles together and the Bandit 1200 50,000 miles so shes done the mileage

That was funny I spit my coffee at the screen. Yvonne is 52 and I'm 55 and within the last 2 years we won't set off on the bike in the pouring rain but don't worry about getting caught out in it.
For the last five years we don't ride unless is +8 degrees as the wind chill at +7 goes below zero at 70mph

One of our most exciting rides was coming home through Kendal in a thunderstorm. A friend gave us the bike after Ray got made redundant in 1981/2 and even though we had very little spare money we could fill the tanks for a couple of quid and go off for the day when Gareth was in school. I knitted socks to wear inside my boots and I had a massive bright orange waterproof that covered everything. The only proper gear we had was our helmets -Mine didn't have a visor - and some green, black and white anoraks - Kawasaki? No leathers, but Ray had some gauntlets and I made do with some suede mittens. And I wore a long skirt as I had no pants. But we thoroughly enjoyed it. And I've mentioned the time an angel saved us from certain death a couple of times before.

Had the CBF 1000 seemed somewhat perdestrian now compared to the blackbird. The thunder cat proved to small for me, had to fold my legs double to ride it. The Kawasaki 1200 was a good bike right up to the time the ICU unit gave up the ghost. A real easy bike to ride was the 750 Kawasaki, could throw it around like a 50cc dirt bike. Now I am in my golden years and bikes are part of the past.

Yeah I agree the CBF1000 is not in any way savage like the Suzuki Bandit 1200 was but in a way I'm not missing the instant urge as its still fast in comparison to cars but it is much smoother than an air/oil cooled bike and that water cooling jacket really does insulate the harshness

IT LOOKS REAL BECAUSE IT IS REAL. here' s a recent G Scale copy of someone's home - it's real stone - real mortar - real tiles..this is not a model - it is a miniature building that will age properly in the garden . 9,000 individual roof tiles were fixed by hand
This is the real house
This is not real
The lovely couple who commissioned it
The 10 degree turn in the building
me laying the 9000 tiles

Well, I'm in the hospitals A&E dept
I decided to go horse riding, something I haven't done in many years. It turned out to be a big mistake! I got on the horse and started out slowly, but then we went a little faster; before I knew it, we were going as fast as the horse could go. I couldn't take the pace and fell off, but caught my foot in the stirrup with the horse dragging me. It wouldn't stop.
Thank goodness the manager at Toys-R-Us came out and unplugged the machine. But he had the nerve to take the rest of my change so I wouldn't attempt to ride the Elephant next to it

We are off to London this weekend for Half a Sixpence at the Noel Coward theatre staying Saturday until Monday night. We were there in September for Les Misrables and love the energy that London and every major city has with its late night entertainment and touristy day time. We will do the big sites on Sunday all over again as if it was the first time

The grandchildren like the duck song. There is also one about him going into a corner store.
