I've had a bit of a tidy up in my back garden and have planted a magnolia that my neighbour gave me in the front - or rather Ray did while I watched. So far we've only had day warm enough to sit out and that was the Friday a week before Easter when I took a cup of coffee outside and stayed out either working or sitting in the sun drinking more coffee for two hours. Everything is bursting forth now; there's a camellia bloom out, the bluebells are showing blue bits, my ribes is in full bloom and the magnolia stellate won't be far behind. I just love the spring. Just wish we had some warmer days to enjoy it all.

ps - The problem with not being able to get on the site may well be to do with the way my illness affected me. I found that I couldn't follow some TV programmes that I've watched avidly for years. This year though I found I just couldn't follow the plots. It was the same with books too I couldn't follow their plots either and I think perhaps that's why I couldn't follow the new layout of the sites either.

Well there you are Pat, I knew you were still a part of this site, but if someone says "it does not work" then I just take it as face value that for them for some unseen reason things just don't work. Well imagine how chuffed I was to see your picture once again.
I think we are all glad when we have the first fruits of spring coming through, we have seen more customers as they start to seek out plants to replace the winter deads.
Children just started half term that will mean more things to do with my grand children and more mothers bring children to walk around the grounds.

It really didn't work for me back when you first started it as that was when my illness first started and it's only lately that things are getting back to normal in my head as well as my body. I was told it could take over a year to get over it properly but God is good and didn't let me suffer too long.
ps - still not managed to change the font, colour or size although I just tried nothing happened.

ps - still not managed to change the font, colour or size although I just tried nothing happened. Glad that you are feeling much better and back to normal so quickly. Praise God for that. The size looks okay for me...as I have increased the size of my page to accommodate size on this site. I find it easier than changing font etc. I think that we are all glad to be " in the garden again" after winter! My bum aches, my thighs ache, the back of my legs ache...I have found muscles that I have forgotten I had!! All the crouching and bending. But it is a very good ache, and I am pleased with the results out there. Lots more to do, but at least the front is now done...except for reseeding the lawn again.

Well I never Pat. There you go not being able to change font or colour and size but in the next breath you have taken another step forward.
It is very different to the other site but I am sure the company will make up for any other disadvantage. I don't mean me, I was referring to Dave and Helen. No Mike as you can see, must be because of his aversion to the internet and the computer age in the light of his revelation upon the mark of the beast. We all have to be free in God to walk our given path. Bless him!

Hi James, I realised you had to set the colour etc. before you typed. I think I've got my head back to normal now - or as normal as it ever was.
I did some drastic pruning of a rather rampant lonicera and also an old fuchsia which fought back and gave me a nasty cut in the palm of my hand.

I am wondering what to buy this year. It's still too early yet...we can't buy plants until the end of May ( if we want them to live!!) I have been making lists of plants that attract bees and butterflies. Kerry told me Milkweed is good for butterflies. Up here there is only ONE type of milkweed that can get through our winters. I will try to get some. It's not one bit pretty , but our butterflies have gone . I read that milkweed is the ONLY place that the Monarch butterfly lays its eggs!!!! No wonder they are vanishing!!!
I think I only saw THREE Bumble bees in all last summer. So I'm turning my lawn into clover if I can, for them. They love dandelions too, but that is a ' bridge too far' for me. I can't have those in my lawn. My garden is horribly acidic because of the huge Pine tree, so that is a big problem in finding flowers that will thrive.

Well here it is and Sundays nearly past, nice to have you back Pat, just catching up on all the gardening, not my cuppa tea. New Wine, Charles Simpson & Bob Mumford are the only two originals still around; Don Basham & Derek Prince and Ern Baxter all in the cloud, probably saying we were 45 years to early. So saints, have a God week; As Paul said; "Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord---------------".

It started off cloudy this morning but I just knew the sun would come out, it is always sunny when I have my retinal screening which is a bit of a nuisance. They put drops in your eyes to dilate the pupil so that your eyes are extremely light sensitive for ages afterwards. Ray always has to come with me and I wear my sunglasses and hang on to him and keep my eyes down. My eyes look like an owl's.

Helen butterfly's like stinging nettles, Buddleia, privet hedge and the white ones like cabbage. I will ask Daniel if he knows any other things that they dote on.

Deliberate bit of flippant nonsense.
I'm wondering what you'll all make of the latest 'me'. I'm now pretty much sold on Cessationism and Preterism.

quote Pat..This is me making the selections before typing. It worked.
And this is me writing..and now I will highlight and change colour. It worked..both ways work. One must remember when highlighting and clicking the colour that you want, to also click the OK button too. If you don't click the OK button when changing colour, I agree, it wont work.

I tried your way Helen but can't see an OK button - help.
I'm still learning so let's see what happens when I click 'ok'. Oh no - I can't find the 'ok' button.
