In the Forum there are three main ways to read what members have posted.
Finding and using “Reply” (for a Thread) if you found it via “Participated” or via “Board titles”
Finding and using “Reply” (For a Thread) if you found it via a post within “Recent Posts”
Finding and using “Reply” (for a Post)
This may well be subject to future revision, but in the meantime the only way that I can find “Reply” for a post, is when the post to which you wish to reply is the last, or only one, in a particular thread’. Otherwise you have to either:
Posting and Previewing your Post.
At bottom left of your posting panel you will see “Preview” and “BBCode” sitting side by side.
Provided you haven’t been into your Profile settings and changed Posting Default from “Preview” to “BBCode” (absolute disaster if you have), then you already have automatic ‘preview’ happening continuously within your posting panel as you are typing and adding ‘effects’.
The need to ‘toggle’ between the bottom two options in order to ‘Preview’ is for members who have unwisely activated ‘BBCode’ in their profile settings.
In other words, instead of a separate Preview facility WYSIWYG in your posting panel (unlike many forums where you have to click on ‘Preview’ and bring up a separate preview box in order to see the full effect of what you have typed).
- By clicking into “Participated” (Top right) but that limits you to threads in which you have been ‘participating’.
- By clicking on the various board titles.
- By clicking on “Recent Posts” (at the bottom of the Forum page, and under ‘Threads and Posts’).
Finding and using “Reply” (for a Thread) if you found it via “Participated” or via “Board titles”
- a) Scroll to top and it’s at top right, or
- b) Scroll to bottom (before ‘Shoutbox’) and it’s at bottom right.
- c) Or you can click on the ‘cogwheel’ icon at far right, and select ‘Back to Top’ from the drop down menu.
Finding and using “Reply” (For a Thread) if you found it via a post within “Recent Posts”
- d) Click on the thread title shown in blue at top left of the post.
- e) Then click on “Reply” at top right.

- f) Click on the Forum’s “Quote” facility (at top right of the post) and both ‘quote and reply’; the procedure for which is to drag down the grey vertical bar to the right of your screen until all you can see is the white posting panel. Then make sure you completely drag down the other grey vertical bar to the right of the panel (not the one further over at extreme right of your screen) and then ‘place and click’ your cursor under the faint grey line which ‘boxes’ the text, and then make your reply.
- g) Avoid evoking the gremlins which so often happens if you use the site’s ‘Quote’ facility and then try deleting the bits you don’t want, before making your reply. Try it by all means but some members are finding it simpler to highlight and save the bit you want to reply to. (Items a), b), c), d), or e) will help you find the post’s thread.) Then click “Reply” and enter ‘username’ said: followed by what you have saved (in blue). Then down a line and enter your reply. Then highlight it all and choose your preferred font size. Then click “Enter Post".
