Just been to the experiment page very colourful and attractive, the forum button I take it is the "how to " Page.
As you have the "How to" page set out what is it that stops it being home page? Will it not fit the template or something?

James ProBoards obviously have assumed everyone would go the way of something very visually attractive image wise.In fact that is the 'norm' for Home Pages, and consequently they haven't really facilitated a 'verbage' option. No matter how you set it up, it automatically rolls each sentence into the next. Here's how it came out with very small letters, and no embolding, colour, underlining etc. being facilitated (here's a small typical section):In the Forum there are three main ways to read what members have posted. By clicking into “Participated” (Top right) but that limits you to threads in which you have been ‘participating’. By clicking on the various board titles. By clicking on “Recent Posts” (at the bottom of the Forum page, and under ‘Threads and Posts’). The first two methods provide a “NEW” icon if there is anything that you haven’t yet seen, whilst the second method is probably the best if you are anxious not to miss anything. Finding and using “Reply” (for a Thread) if you found it via “Participated” or via “Board titles” a) Scroll to top and it’s at top right, or b) Scroll to bottom (before ‘Shoutbox’) and it’s at bottom right. c) Or you can click on the ‘cogwheel’ icon at far right, and select ‘Back to Top’ from the drop down menu. Finding and using “Reply” (For a Thread) if you found it via a post within “Recent Posts” d) Click on the thread title shown in blue at top left of the post. e) Then click on “Reply” at top right.

It's taking shape and looking good. God bless your efforts Mike. Overnight, and without technicians help, I've found a way to get the Navigation Guidelines on the Home Page by 'imaging' them rather than by typing them. But it's still very much WIP since having gone down the imaging route there may be other visuals that can advantageously be included.

Home Page is just not the place for such a large bundle of verbiage.....much better left as it is in the dedicated 'read only' Board. Who cares either way? It's only 'Nuts and Bolts'.

Just in time now for the sniff and pee routine with Becky (Chris is away until Tuesday). Then it's Norwich versus Aston Villa in another 2 hours time (should be back by then).

I looked, and left a shout there. It looks very nice Home page indeed. Very welcoming. I notice you have turned the site grey too. BTW, the link in your last thread is not "alive" probs because the brackets are too close to it.

Mike I have been struggling with windows 10 all day, so not here. Now I have been to look at home page and read only page , could not log in as I have no idea what I was logged in with nothing works, should have written it down.
Well it looks bright and fun, good job Mike , just a few tweaks and it will be fine.

I hope I'm right in taking that as the 'green light' to go ahead with transferring the stuff across to this site. Whatever 'tweaks' are needed can just as easily be done 'here'.
Although I may need to use your admin account to add the 'Home Page' since mine has less 'permissions' than yours.

For our latest situation please see the site's new first board entitled 'Newbies' Guidelines for Forum Usage'.

James, whenever I check out that site via one of Mikes link on here ...I arrive there 'logged out' but I only have to click Login and in I go, no password or anything required. That is probably because I never, ever, log out of any site. when I register for a site I click "keep me logged in" On a odd occasion I log out of a site. Maybe that happened to you? Maybe you just didn't notice that when you clicked Login, you were then "in" like me, but didn't notice it? Unless you DO log out when you leave a site. Just a thought.

Here's the place for members to comment on the Forum changes so far. And in particular on how they find the 'Newbies Guidelines for Forum Usage' (top Category/Board). Shortly a new URL will be available for members to save in their browsers' favourites/bookmarks, so that they can log straight into the forum (thereafter clicking on 'Home' only if you want to see the promotional stuff that's really intended for 'Guests' who stumble upon us, or who otherwise get directed/invited to our site).

If it's not too early for the change to have 'settled in' (they said 24 hours) the URL that you need to save in your Browsers' favourites/bookmarks, is:- stayingintouchwithgod.org/forum ......that will take you straigh to the forum with having to do so via the Home Page. Otherwise stay as you are since it requires nothing more than one quick click of your cursor on 'Forum' and you're 'there' in any case. That's what I am preferring to do since I enjoy entering via our 'Front Door' (which is what I've called it).
PS looks like the "24 hours" applies to the change in what you see at the top of your screen, before it shows as stayingintouchwithgod.org
