I do get some odd thoughts Mike, and on 'the great judgement morning' why morning? maybe 'the great afternoon judgement' didn't fit the song. But what is interesting at the great first judgement, God judged the serpent, the woman and the man and never annihilated any of them, when he could have cleaned the slate and reset His plan but-----. Why would the end be different . From odd thought in Calgary . One could hardly expect Hank to cover the full 'Revelation' revelation in one song. In addition to which few get the understanding of who it is that is reserved for the 'second death', and the fact that whereas eternal torment in the 'Lake of Fire' is reserved solely and specifically for "the devil, the beast, and the false prophet" (Rev 20:10) it is only the temporary abode of those that must enter therein to suffer their second and final death, and 'be no more'. "The fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death." (Rev 21:8) Thus spoketh the annihilationist.

"The fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death." (Rev 21:8)
Interesting that the initial generalisation of those that "have their part in the second death" is to describe them as being "Fearful and unbelieving". So I ask myself "why the initial emphasis on fear"? and did a bit of biblegateway searching on 'fear'. Whilst we know that we are "saved through faith" (Ephesians 2:8), I also read "Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith?" (Matthew 8:26), and I compare that with "There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear" (1 John 4:18)
It seems faith and love are the antipathy of fear. So maybe it is the absence of 'faith and love' that should cause fear in the hearts of those destined for annihilation in the second death'. But whilst that might well corelate with the passage that refers to 'weeping and gnashing of teeth', it doesn't necessarily mean eternal torment.

Fear and love or fear verses love; plus love and perfect love, 'There is no fear in love, for perfect love casts out all fear' because fear hath torment,-------" Faith reads as to come in different measures, is it possible that fear and love are also to a measure? no realm is a one size fits all, the old tabernacle pattern was three dimensions which were all 'part' of the whole, if one believes of a whole, then the fearful and unbelieving are only a 'part' of the whole imho. In Fathers house are many abodes, including maybe for what ever reason a lake of correction, faith is believing that "as HE is, so are we" (now that's raises the question of what is "as He is" seemingly not as He was) in this troubled world, if the criteria for bathing is fear and unbelief, there could be a looooong line up!!!!! I must say old Hank worked a lot in for a morning song . GtG, it's a work day.
