Nikoli the father of Vessi having had heart surgery has now been moved to cardio ward from ICU. He has sores on his back, is weak and can not feed himself so Rossi has to take food in as over here nurses only do the nursing side nothing else. He says he is a living corps and is adopting a "I would be better off dead line of thinking." Rossi has 'lost it' is the term Vessi told Daniel. Nikoli needs an injection of life. He is casting a pall over the family.

I sure hope they are keeping an eye on the sores James x So sorry that he is feeling so down, not perhaps uncommon after a big op. It is hard to encourage when people are ‘ in that frame of mind ‘ - we get it from residents at work, and it is just so sad sometimes to know that a person feels that way. Will be praying for an internal change of heart xx Rita xx

Thanks Rita, good to know. I shall tell Vessi who I am sure will be blessed by the news others are praying.

My mate had open heart and when he was in his 50s and they had cut his rib cage open and he was of all men most miserable for a long time, I would have thought as Nik' was a doc' he would have known before hand that it's not a walk in the park, may be he'll get 'his' prayer answered who knows, for me at the moment healing is just a scripture, kudo's for those who have a prayer of faith, we will be praying a prayer for a blessing on the whole family.

Nothing robs us so quickly of the desire for life than persistent pain or persistent sickness and sadly when they come in pairs it requires the prayers of others because their own prayers are for a quick end to the illness yet it may (from what others have said above) require a sustained effort for days, weeks, or months.
James please remind us often to pray for Nikoli for we do neglect our duty as life gets in the way. I always pray instantly when I am reminded simply so I don't have time to forget to do it.
I do often pray for someone in an undertone while at the same time as having a vocal conversation with them - its a wonderful gift that God gives to us

Hopefully Dad and daughter are both doing well, were they at the same hospital for treatment, as Ivor said, when sickness hits I'm all for the quick fix but ------------. Remembering them both in our prayers, and the rest of the family. Some how, 'all things' do strangely 'work' together for good.

No! He is in Varna and Vessy is in Dobridge, that did not work out so well as they are an hour apart by car.

Rossi has been told by the doctors she must cook for Nikoli and take food into him every day. That means she will be stuck in Varna and not able to visit Vessy in Dobridge hospital. Daniel has arrived home with the two girls, which blessed Twink no end.

Good question and one we do not know the answer to. Nikoli is in a bad way, the hospital told Rossi to buy a ring to ease his bed sores, and some cream. She also took in some PJ's. He is lying in bed not dressed in PJ's, no donute ring and no cream, and she is distressed as the other day he was not fed before 4 in the afternoon. The idea is to get him moved to Dobridge where they live and it is the hospital that Lubo their son works at. Varna told them it was a risk to move him as he may bleed but he is so neglected where he is he will probable pop of anyway. He can not sit up as he is so week.
Not a happy update sorry to say.

As you say, not a happy situation all round, to do or not to do remains the salient question unfortunately. But we can pray that Gods will, will be done in answer to those prayers.

So sorry to hear the update James, that’s awful that they are expecting family to provide treatment for the sores - that would be an abuse issue in our care home or hospital. Poor man he must be so uncomfortable. The depression he felt post op has been superseded by the lack of care , he must feel awful. Much love to your family James, horrible to know that this is happening and so much is out of your control.
Rita xx

All we are left with is prayer. "The prayer of faith shall save the sick" so says James, unfortunately in my experience I am still a long way off from being able to provide such help to those in need. Wish it was that straight forward, one prays and the recipient of such prayer jumps out of bed healed. God knows the plan!

I had friends in Africa and their biggest dread was needing hospital treatment because their hospitals were not hospitable either.. without a bowl and a spoon the nurses would watch people starve. We in the Christianised West expect at least Christian virtues and a minimum of care but sadly not all countries provide that minimum.. Culture being what it is means care varies from country to country

Latest news, Lubo their son has taken time off to arrange an ambulance to transport Nikoli from Varna to Dobbridge this Tuesday. This is the same town that Rossi and nikoli live in and it will make hospital visitation a lot easier. Praying that Rossi and Nikoli come into a place of peace and the knowledge of who Jesus is.

I'm glad old Lubo has stepped up for his Dad, how ever bad we think our medical care is, other countries are not so fortunate. I was thinking of seeking medical Mosquito treatment with ongoing therapy but H's prescription is; suck it up up and stop moaning, well that didn't cost me anything . Did N get his bed ring, I could have used one when I developed some fever from overseas injections before leaving for Cyprus, Army hospital beds were not designed with long term care in mind!!!!!!!!

Rossi called Vessy while we were at Blagoevgrade to say come soon, as she does not think he can last more than 3 days. He is not eating and has grown very thin has no control over his body. It is a hard call to make, she does not want to not inform Vessy as to her father's condition but at the same time recognises that he might last a couple of weeks. The person very upset by his potential death is Abigail, she needs the comfort of Gods spirit. A real encounter with the living Lord would be a terrific outcome for her, bless her. The girls believe in God and Jesus, but have yet to have that personal face to face.

So sorry James - so has Vessy decided to go to her father ? End of life is always difficult to second guess with regards to time, is he having doctors go in at all ? Thinking of everyone xx We had one lady who was deemed end of life, brought the family in ect, that was 18months ago ( even we are amazed ) May the Lord use the situation in some way xx Rita

Just as you say Rita, having said do not delay coming to see your father, Vessy made plans to travel on Sunday. Bought tickets and contacted mum to say on my way only to be told don’t rush. The unpredictability of life follows us right to the end.
