every now and then it seems God intervenes to prevent humans destroying each other and the world so how about nuclear warfare or corona virus with nations being forced to help each other and the world - twinc

Good point and worth considering twinc. The atom bomb and death by virus, just another blessing from the Lord.

It’s a shame that the politicians don’t realise that - still having digs at each other instead of pulling together for the country. Just out of interest, those of you that went through the war years, did the politicians still fight against each other then, during the blitz ect ? Rita

Churchill cometh the hour cometh the man.. A man of war was not a man of peace... After the war it needed a builder of society.. Capitalist and socialist are always opposed

Rita, your Dad would probably know more than me as to the war time politics, I do remember being huddle (my dad was not the most patient where the tuning was critical, hence the huddle) around the radio listening to Mr Churchill's speeches and my dad interpreting for Mum and me, I think it was a coalition cabinet and winning the war was the top priority, after the war I think it was back too the same old, same old, going at one another's political throats after the human cost of that war. I do remember Winnie's horse Colonist winning some famous race, my Dad had half a crown each way on it!!!!! Good job there was no virus then, gum was a many splendored thing, and was shared and enjoyed by many mouths all enjoying the same piece.
