My daughter Rachel, one who knows the Lord, has a condition of Aspurges. She has run away to be with an 80 year old man, who she hopes will make her a real woman. The social services called in the police and Rachel is now listed as an officially missing person. Please pray that the spirit does a new work in her. Thank you.

Oh James, how awful for you all. I pray that she will be found quickly and that the Holy Spirit will bring her to her right mind and safely back to her family. How old is she?

Dear James, My heart bleeds for you. I have married into a family where the Aspergers gene runs through every member to greater or lesser degrees; with one daughter suffering the limitation to the greatest extreme imaginable (a virtual human 'cabbage'....much though I hate having to use such an analogy). Absolutely nothing seems capable of affecting improvement or cure (and that includes prayer). But prayer is all we have, and its ineffectuality should not prevent us from turning to it (it's our one and only resort).

Thank you for prayers. Police found her but can not give us her address as she is "of age" they have no concern as to her state of mind without some formal medical documentation. The problem is that interview to establish her mental state was to be done today, Rachel has refused to see the social workers when contacted by phone. Police can not give social workers the address of Rachel.
Big mess, I warned the social workers that Rachel was vulnerable but it took them over a month to appoint anyone to her case. If only....
All we have is the Lord watching over her, and that is everything.

I am settled on the story of the prodigal son...in time"he came to himself" and when he did, he knew where to go.....back to family and the waiting father. She will soon "spend her wealth"(= what she calls Freedom) once her freedom days get boring for her, and the people around her stop 'focussing' on her, ( she probably has never had this much attention) and they once more get on with their own lives again...she will look around and find herself alone..THEN will be the acid test. The trough will be empty and she will 'return'.
That is what I think....

Sorry I've no words of advice James because I'm a bull at a gate when my children are involved, if you'd like me to take someone by the throat and explain the pain they are causing then I'm your man.

Thank you all for your prayers and words of help. Not sure that will work Ivor , in this day and age they will go free while you get locked up.
I had contemplated the good old baseball bat treatment but just could not feel that the holy spirit was 100% telling me to "have a go". I do so feel somewhat deflated, lost the get up and go to be on with the packing what with the thought of leaving her behind in this mess.

I'm sure the timing and the oddness of the situation that the enemy is behind it, the enemy loses the battle and he loses war. It is done!.. we just don't see it... and hopelessness is where he wants YOU!.. My prayers are for you James to overcome this.
Your walk is the one he is after stumbling by taking your eye off the prize onto the precious. All the precious are the Lords and he cares for his own, with great jealousy he guards them
“You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God...” Notice that God is jealous when someone gives to another or is taken by another... something that rightly belongs to Him.
This is not envy as we use the term jealousy today but righteous indignation that someone or something has the audacity to take away from God something that is precious to him.. and He, "God" is a mighty big fellow .....as our friends in Papua New Guinea Pigeon English describe God
Cause and Effect: Is this Rachel causing something to effect you leaving - hoping to change your mind so no change happens and the status quo is restored in her life or is she copying you and reaching out for a new life? This was a hypothetical question please don't answer as I'm not close enough to the situation to get an handle on it, I'm simply grasping at straws really.... hoping something helps

I was just thinking on the waiting father, the one leaving was his youngest, maybe his favorite, we don't know, but old, "Lo all these many years" doesn't seem that warm and cuddly, But it's the fathers response to, I'm leaving, which is interesting, he gives him "his provision" no weeping and wailing, no what if's, no right and wrongs, to late for that. Because it's written and we have the ending, and it's a parable anyway but the father did not know the ending when he gave him his inheritance, it would appear praying and fasting is not on the menu, so did he ( the father) know there was something about the "house" that would ultimately draw the son back? Every son/daughter has a place in the " Fathers" house no questions asked.

Hi James, So sorry to read about what has happened. Can I ask, was Rachel coming with you to Bulgarian? I am inclined to agree with Ivor with regards to the timing - however I also believe that with our children, even the vulnerable ones, we have to learn to entrust them into Gods care. God is not taken by surprise by the choices we make, and not beyond his capabilities to work within the situation.
how long before you are due to leave the uk? Rita

Thanks for asking. Kathy's just coming out of bad experience with a blood clot, but God has been with us through the whole journey in spite of the hard bumps. Hopefully we are with His help moving yet closer to Him.

A point of praise!!
I told Rachel by text that her mother would be coming over as we were both going to meet friends in Northern Ireland in November and would she like to meet up for a chat. Tonight she sent back a text to say she would like to meet Mum. I do not know if that means Mum and not me, but however it is it is the first step on reconciliation. God be praised, thank you Jesus!!!

Hugs win the day ........ it shows something more than words often do. My daughter is not one for hugs with me except when she is leaving for a while or going to an important situation like a job interview - then she needs what hugs give.

Mum flies in on the 1st November, then she and I fly 2nd to Ireland to see our fellow trustees for 4 days. I let Rachel know that Mum will be around from the 6 to the 9 and she is game to meet up. I said I thought she would not want me there but she said why and she wanted to see me. Please keep this meeting in your prayers. I know that you will thanks!!
